Part-Time Project Manager

 

Established in 2018, Amplify Consulting is a minority-owned and woman-owned, fast-growing consulting firm located in Charlotte, NC, specializing in community outreach planning and place-based outreach initiatives. Our firm consists of professionals experienced in multiple disciplines, including community outreach planning, community development, marketing, communication, and local government policy. We work with governments and nonprofits to enhance their community engagement capacity and increase awareness of special projects by hosting public meetings and workshops, specifically for capital projects and community developments. We believe in helping communities grow with dignity. We believe in an Engagement First approach. We are looking to hire a Part-Time Project Manager.

The Role

Amplify Consulting is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a team of strategy, marketing and community engagement professionals serving local government and nonprofit changemakers in Charlotte and across the US in key industries: transportation planning, local government budget engagement, arts and culture, health equity, and community planning and design.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support team in optimizing and delivering project management excellence across the firm through supporting new business, client management and community engagement

  • Client management including proposal development, estimating, writing, editing, proofreading, scheduling and supporting team in maintaining current project status tracking and capacity planning

  • Some survey design, implementation and analysis for client projects 

  • Oversight and daily maintenance of business systems including Asana cloud-based project management

  • Post client follow-up including surveying and testimonial requests

  • Facilitating virtual and in-person feedback sessions (i.e. focus groups, listening sessions and workshops) 

  • Community engagement strategy 

  • Developing community stakeholder databases for Charlotte, NC, Mecklenburg County, the surrounding areas, Southeast US

  • Virtual event planning and management 

  • Creating and maintaining project timelines (i.e. Gantt Charts) 

  • Bi-lingual is a plus (Spanish, Mandarin Chinese) 

Required Qualifications & Competencies

The ideal candidate would have the following capabilities and qualities:

  • 3-5+ years of experience working in a consulting, digital marketing or project management or operations-based role

  • A commitment to the mission of strengthening social impact for the Greater Charlotte community and across the Carolinas

  • Effective communication skills with particularly strong written communication skills 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and prioritize multiple projects

  • Must be a collaborative team player who can also work independently

  • Detail oriented and strategic thinker 

  • Both values and understands how to implement equity, inclusion, and tactics to reach diverse audiences

  • Understands the importance of reducing barriers for participation for all 

  • Proficiency with project management and productivity tools (i.e. Zoom, Qualtrics, Asana, Canva, and Google Suite)

Compensation

The position requires approximately 15 hrs/wk and starts between $35/hr to $40/hr based on applicant experience. Minimum experience 3yrs. There is potential for growth for the ideal candidate as the company grows. This role is mostly remote with flexible hours with some on site and virtual performance needed during operating hours 8am-5pm. North Carolina based candidates preferred. The anticipated start date is April 11, 2022.
